Empanelment of IAS officers of 1989 batch

The file of fifty IAS officers of 1989 batch, recommended by CSB for empanelment in the rank of Joint Secretary or equivalent in the Central Government, has been cleared by the PMO and the notification is likely to be issued soon, sources said. The officers whose names have been recommended are;

Mr. Ashok Lavasa may succeed Mr. Jitesh Khosla

Mr. Jitesh Khosla, IAS (AM, 1979), Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs will complete his central deputation tenure on 20th January, 2009. According to sources, Mr. Ashok Lavasa, IAS (HY, 1980) may be appointed as the next Joint Secretary, Corporate Affairs in place of Mr. Khosla.

Ms. S. Kutty to be A. S., U. P. S. C.?

It is tipped that Ms. Sanjeevanee Kutty, IAS (MH, 1983) may soon be appointed as Additional Secretary in the Union Public Service Commission. The position is equivalent to the rank of Joint Secretary. The earlier incumbent to the post, Mr. Dillip Kumar Samantaray, IAS (MP, 1982) was appointed as the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas.

Appointment of Director, Ministry of IT

A new post of Director was created in the Ministry of Information & Technology in the month of April, 2008. Who will be appointed on this newly created post? According to sources, an officer for appointment on this post is yet to be finalised.

Mr. Ramesh Tiwari may join GOI

It is tipped that Mr. Ramesh Tiwari, IAS (UT, 1999) is in consideration for appointment as Director in some Department in the Government of India. The name of Tiwari may be finalised for this assignment and he soon may join Government of India on deputation.

Appointment of Minister (Economic) in the High Commission of India, UK

For appointment as Minister (Economic) in the High Commission of India at United Kingdom under the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, the name of an IAS officer of 1981 batch is said to be in consideration. The position has fallen vacant following the completion of tenure of Mr. S. Jagadeesan (GJ, 1980), the earlier incumbent on 24th November, 2008.

Ms. Uma Nanduri may become Director, Defence

Ms. Uma Nanduri, IFS (OR, 1993) is said to be in consideration for appointment as Director in the Department of Defence. The post held earlier by Mr. Narendra Kumar, Indian Ordnance Factory Service (1984), is lying vacant since the completion of his tenure in September, 2008.

Mr. Shiv Kumar may be appointed Director, NDMA

It is tipped that Mr. Shiv Kumar, IDSE (1986) may be appointed as Director in the National Disaster Management Authority, Ministry of Home Affairs.

Position vacant

One post of Director in the Department of Rural Development, held earlier by Ms. Ranjana Gupta, IFS (AM, 1986), is lying vacant following her being shifted to the Ministry of Environment & Forests in the month of July, 2008. Who will be appointed on this post?
