Ms. K. S. Rao to be next Secretary, Parliamentary Affairs?

The name Ms. Kanuru Sujatha Rao, IAS (AP, 1974), Special Secretary & DG, National Aids Control Organisation (NACO) in the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare is doing rounds for appointment as next Secretary, Parliamentary Affairs. The present Secretary, Parliamentary Affairs Ms. Rekha Bhargava, IAS (MP, 1973) is superannuating on 31st December, 2008.

Ms. Loretta Mary Vas may be shifted

Following the appointment Ms. Sindhushree Khullar, IAS (UT, 1975) as Secretary, Youth Affairs, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, the post of Additional Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, held earlier by her fell vacant. According to sources, Ms. Loretta Mary Vas, IAS (UP, 1977), Additional Secretary (Budget) in the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance may be shifted to the post held earlier by Ms. Khullar in the Department of Economic Affairs and formal order of the same is expected in the next week.

Mr. Raghav Chandra to become J. S., Commerce?

The name of Mr. Raghav Chandra, IAS (MP, 1982) is almost final to succeed Mr. Jayant Dasgupta, IAS (BH, 1981) as next Joint Secretary in the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry and the file of his appointment has been cleared by the competent authorities, sources informed. Mr. Dasgupta will complete his central deputation tenure on 18th January, 2009.

Mr. Praveen Kumar to become Member Mechanical, Indian Railways?

Mr. Praveen Kumar, IRSME, General Manager of South Western Railway may be appointed as next Member Mechanical in the Railway Board, Indian Railways.

Appointment of Director in the Planning Commission

According to sources, out of five Indian Audit and Accounts Service officers of 1983 batch reviewed, the name of Ms. Sudha Krishnan, IA&AS (1983) has been recommended by the CSB for empanelment for holding the post of Joint secretary or equivalent in the Government of India.

According to sources, Ms. Veena Prasad, IDAS (1982) has been recommended by the CSB for empanelment for holding the post of Joint secretary or equivalent in the Government of India.

The first novel by Dr. Suchita Malik, “Indian Memsahib: The untold Story of a Bureaucrat’s Wife” was released at India Islamic Cultural Centre in New Delhi by Mr. Tejendra Khanna, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Delhi on 16th December, 2008. Dr. Malik who is wife of an IAS officer teaches English language and literature in the Government College for Men, Chandigarh. The unique novel written by a Memsahib herself and published by Rupa & Co. makes it an interesting and must read for everyone.
