Who will be the next Secretary, Power?
Mr. Anil Razdan, IAS (HY, 1973), Secretary, Ministry of Power is superannuating on the last day of year 2008. Who will be appointed as successor to Mr. Razdan on this post? Two IAS officers of 1973 batch Mr. Ajay Shanker, IAS (UP, 1973), Secretary in the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Mr. U. N. Panjiyar, IAS (BH, 1973), Secretary, Ministry of Water Resources are being tipped as probable candidates for appointment as next Secretary, Power. Both the officers have served as Additional Secretary and Special Secretary in the Ministry of Power in the past.

Ms. Renuka Viswanathan, IAS (KN, 1971), Secretary (PG & Coordination) in the Cabinet Secretariat will superannuate on 31st December, 2008. Who will be appointed as the next Secretary, (PG & Coordination) in the Cabinet Secretariat?
Ms. S. Kutty may join GOI
It is tipped that Ms. Sanjeevanee Kutty, IAS (MH, 1983) may soon be appointed as Joint Secretary in some Ministry in the Central Government.
Mr. S. S. Dhillon to be empanelled as J. S. in GOI
According to sources, Mr. Sudeep Singh Dhillon, IAS (HY, 1984) has been recommended by the CSB for empanelment for holding the post of Joint secretary or equivalent in the Government of India.
Mr. S. K. Panda may join GOI
Mr. Sanjay Kumar Panda, IAS (MT, 1980) is in consideration for appointment as Joint Secretary in some Ministry in the Government of India, sources said. Prior to this, Mr. Panda’s name came for the post of Joint secretary in the Ministry of Minority Affairs as well.

Mr. I. B. Karn, CSS (1976), Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs will superannuate on the last day of December, 2008. Who will be appointed as successor to Mr. Karn?
CSS officers to be empanelled as J. S.
The name of two CSS officers has been recommended by the CSB for empanelment to hold the post of Joint Secretary or equivalent, sources informed. The two officers whose name has been recommended for empanelment are; Badre Alam Khan and G. N. Sreekumaran.

K. Ravi Ramachandran, IRS (IT, 1994) has been appointed as Director in the Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Human Resources Development.
J. K. Teotia appointed Additional Director (Forensic Auditing), Corporate Affairs
Jai Kishan Teotia, Indian Cost Accounts Service (1992) has been appointed as Additional Director (Forensic Auditing) in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. The post is equivalent to the rank of Director.
Sunita Kejriwal appointed Additional Director (Forensic Auditing), Corporate Affairs
Sunita Kejriwal, IRS (IT, 1993) has been appointed as Additional Director (Forensic Auditing) in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. The post is equivalent to the rank of Director.
Mr. U. B. Singh is back to his cadre
Mr. U. B. Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax, New Delhi who was working as OSD (V&L) in the Department of Revenue, Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has been relived by the board and will report to his parent cadre of CCIT (CCA), Delhi.

Mr. Subrat Roy, Income Tax Officer posted in Orissa region has been elevated in the grade of Assistant Commissioner of Income Tax.
