Empanelment of IAS officers of 1989 batch
Finally the empanelment of IAS officers of 1989 batch for holding the post of Joint Secretary or equivalent in the Central Government took place yesterday on 10th of November, 2008 and fifty officers from this batch has been empanelled, sources informed. When the list will come, lot of disappointment is expected from the officers.
Four officers of 1989 batch to be elevated soon?
Four IAS officers of 1989 batch who are believed to have been empanelled for holding the post of Joint Secretary or equivalent in the Government of India may be elevated soon to fill up some of the important posts lying vacant. Mr. Govind Mohan, IAS (SK, 1989), Director in the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance may be appointed on the post of Joint Secretary, Economic Affairs held earlier by Mr. Arvind Mayaram, IAS (RJ, 1978) who has become Additional Secretary & FA in the Ministry of Rural Development. Mr. Maninder Singh, IAS (AM, 1989) is believed to have strong chances for appointment as Joint Secretary (Exploration) in the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas. The post was held earlier by Mr. A. K. Jain, IAS (MP, 1986) and lying vacant since the completion of his tenure on 29th June, 2008. Mr. Amitabh Jain, IAS (CG, 1989), Joint Director in the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFIT), Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry may be appointed on the newly created post of Joint Secretary in the Department of Commerce. Mr. Devesh Chaturvedi, IAS (UP, 1989), Director in the Ministry of Tourism may become next Additional D. G., Tourism in the office of D. G. Tourism, Ministry of Tourism. The earlier incumbent to the post, Mr. Sanjay Kothari, IAS (HY, 1978) has been appointed on the newly created post of Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism following his empanelment for holding the post of Additional Secretary or equivalent in the Government of India, few months back.
Ms. Rita Menon to be next Secretary, AYUSH?
The name Ms. Rita Menon, IAS (UP, 1975), Special Secretary in the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance is doing rounds for appointment as next Secretary, Department of Ayurveda Yoga and Naturopathy Unani Siddha and Homeopathy (AYUSH), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. At present, Mr. Naresh Dayal, IAS (UP:72), Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare is holding the additional charge of Secretary, AYUSH following the retirement of Ms. Anita Das, IAS (MP, 1972), the earlier incumbent to the post.
Panel for J. S. (E), Petroleum & Natural Gas deferred?
The panel of officers for the appointment of Joint Secretary (Exploration) in the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas has been deferred once again, sources informed. It has happened on two or three occasions earlier as well. The post was held earlier by Mr. A. K. Jain, IAS (MP, 1986) and lying vacant since the completion of his tenure on 29th June, 2008.
Panel for J. S., Economic Affairs deferred?
The panel of officers for the appointment of Joint Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance Gas has been deferred, sources informed. The post has fallen vacant following the appointment of Mr. Arvind Mayaram, IAS (RJ, 1978) as Additional Secretary & FA in the Ministry of Rural Development.
Mr. Prashant to be CVO, Oil India
Mr. Prashant, IAS (WB, 1988), who completed his tenure as Director in the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance on 07th September, 2008 has been appointed as next Chief Vigilance Officer, Oil India Limited under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas.
Appointment of J. S., Commerce
A new post of Joint Secretary was created in the Department of Commerce in the month of June, 2008. The panel of officers for appointment on this newly created post has been deferred, sources said.
K. V. Unnikrishnan appointed Dy. Secretary, Overseas Indian Affairs
K. V. Unnikrishnan, CSS (1986) has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs.
SAM Naqvi appointed Regional Director, SSC
Saiyyed Aasim Mazhar Naqvi, IRSS (1991) has been appointed as Regional Director, Staff selection Commission under the Department of Personnel & Training, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions. The post is equivalent to the rank of Director.
V. K. Singh is Director, Labour & Employment
Mr. Vijay Kumar Singh, IFS (HP, 1986) has been appointed as Director in the Ministry of Labour & Employment.
