Who will be the next Secretary, Power?

Mr. Anil Razdan, IAS (HY, 1973), Secretary, Ministry of Power is superannuating on the last day of year 2008. Who will be appointed as successor to Mr. Razdan on this post? Two IAS officers of 1973 batch Mr. Ajay Shanker, IAS (UP, 1973), Secretary in the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Mr. U. N. Panjiyar, IAS (BH, 1973), Secretary, Ministry of Water Resources are being tipped as probable candidates for appointment as next Secretary, Power. Both the officers have served as Additional Secretary and Special Secretary in the Ministry of Power in the past.

Panel for appointment of J. S. (E), Petroleum & Natural Gas scrapped?

There is a strong probability of the panel of officers for the appointment of Joint Secretary (Exploration) in the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas to be scrapped once again, sources informed. The panel has been scrapped on two three occasions earlier as well. The post was held earlier by Mr. A. K. Jain, IAS (MP, 1986) and lying vacant since the completion of his tenure on 29th June, 2008.

Empanelment of IAS officers of 1989 batch

The empanelment of IAS officers of 1989 batch for holding the post of Joint Secretary or equivalent in the Central Government is probably going to take place on 10th of November, 2008, the day on which the next meeting of CSB is said to have been fixed for.

Mr. B. Anand may join GOI

It is tipped that Mr. B. Anand, IAS (TN, 1987) is being considered for appointment as Joint secretary in some Ministry in the Government of India.

The panel for J. S., Economic Affairs scrapped?

The panel of officers for the appointment of Joint Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs in the Ministry of Finance is tipped to have been scrapped. The post has fallen vacant following the appointment of Mr. Arvind Mayaram, IAS (RJ, 1978) as Additional Secretary & FA in the Ministry of Rural Development.

Appointment of J. S., AYUSH

Mr. Shiv Basant, IAS (JH, 1976) who was serving as Joint Secretary in the Department of Ayurveda Yoga and Naturopathy Unani Siddha and Homeopathy (AYUSH), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare went back to his parent cadre in the first week of October, 2008 prematurely. Who will be appointed as next Joint Secretary, AYUSH?

Appointment of Director, Environment & Forests

The post of Director in the Ministry of environment and Forests held earlier by Mr. S. Jaganathan, Indian Railway Traffic service has fallen vacant consequent upon his proceeding for training programme. It is tipped that Mr. Rao Ayyeswara Ancha, Indian Information service (1987) along with few other officers is being considered for appointment on this post.

Mr. Upendra Tripathy may join Minority Affairs

It is being speculated that, the name of Mr. Upendra Tripathy, IAS (KN, 1980) has been finalised for the post Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Minority Affairs. The post was held earlier by Mr. Pradeep Sen, IAS (RJ, 1982) and was vacated by him in the month of May, 2008.
