Mr. Arvind Jadhav to become A. S., Expenditure?

Mr. Arvind Jadhav, IAS (KN, 1978), who went back to his parent cadre on completion of his tenure as Chief Vigilance Officer, Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL), Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas in August, 2008 may join Government of India soon. According to sources, Mr. Jadhav is in consideration for appointment as Additional Secretary in the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance in place of Ms Rita Menon, IAS (UT, 1975), who has been appointed as Secretary in the Ministry f Textiles.

Mr. D. K. Mittal to become A. S., Commerce?

Mr. Dinesh Kumar Mittal, IAS (UP, 1977) may join Central Government soon. According to sources, Mr. Mittal is in consideration for appointment as Additional Secretary in the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry in place of Mr. Rahul Khullar, IAS (UT, 1975). Mr. Khullar has been appointed as Secretary in the Department of Disinvestment, Ministry of Finance. Mr. Mittal, who was empanelled for holding the post of Additional Secretary or equivalent in the Central Government recently, has earlier served as Joint Secretary in the Department of Commerce.

Mr. V. N. Gaur to become A. S., Home?

It is tipped that Mr. Virendra Narayan Gaur, IAS (NL, 1978), Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs, who is empanelled in the level of Additional Secretary in the GOI is the most likely candidate to be appointed as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs in place of Mr. Vinay Kumar, IAS (KN, 1975), who has been appointed as the Secretary, Border Management, Ministry of Home Affairs.

Mr. P. Mukherjee appointed DG, BRPD

Mr. Prasun Mukherjee, IPS (WB, 1973) has been appointed as next Director General of the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPRD).

Mr. R. K. Bhatia appointed DG, NDRFCD

Mr. Ranjit Kumar Bhatia, IPS (UP, 1974) has been appointed as next Director General of the National Disaster Response Force and Civil Defence (NDRFCD).

According to sources, following four officers of Central Secretariat Service are in consideration for empanelment in the level of Joint Secretary or equivalent;

Mr. Balbhadra Nayak (1975),
Mr. Ranvir Singh Garg (1977),
Mr. S. C. Sagar (1979) and
Mr. S. N. Burman (1979).

Mr. H. S. B. Kamath may become ED, Canara Bank

It is tipped that Mr. H. S. B. Kamath, General Manager of Union Bank of India may be appointed as Executive Director of Canara Bank.

Ms. V. Radha shifted to A. P. on inter cadre deputation

Ms. Vennecaganti Radha, IAS (MH, 1994) has been shifted from Maharashtra to Andhra Pradesh cadre for a period of two years on inter cadre deputation. The same has been approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.

Mr. Abhishek Singh, IAS (NL, 1995) has been appointed as Director in the Ministry of Information & Technology. The post of Director was created in the month of April, 2008.
