Mr. R. C. Mishra may get additional charge of AS & FA, IT

Mr. R. C. Mishra, IAS (MT, 1978), Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Urban Development is believed to be in consideration for being additional charge of Additional Secretary & FA, Department of Information Technology.

Mr. Ashok Lavasa may succeed Mr. V. N. Gaur

It is tipped that Mr. Ashok Lavasa, IAS (HY, 1980) may be appointed as Joint secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs in place of Mr. Mr. Virendra Narayan Gaur, IAS (NL, 1978). Mr., Gaur who was empanelled in the level of Additional Secretary in the GOI, has been appointed as the CEO, Food & Safety Standard Authority in the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.

Appointment of Member Settlement Commission (IT/ Wealth Tax)

According to sources, the name of Mr. P. K. Dubey, Mr. P. C. Chottary, Mr. A. R. Malhotra, Mr. Ramji Sinha, Mr. M. S. Rai and Mr. A. Das has been proposed for appointment as Member Settlement Commission (IT/ Wealth Tax) at Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Kolkata and Chennai respectively.

Empanelment of IAS officers of 1981 batch as J. S.

According to sources, seven IAS officers of 1981 batch were reviewed by the CSB for empanelment in the level of Joint Secretary in the GOI but were declined empanelment.

Mr. U. Chatterjee to succeed Mr. Julka?

According to sources, the name of Mr. Upamanyu Chatterjee, IAS (MH, 1983) has been almost finalised for appointment as Joint Secretary in the Department of Defence in place of Mr. Bimal Julka, IAS (MP, 1979) whose extended tenure is ending on 28th March, 2009.

Two officers in the race for appointment in Anti-Naxalite Cell

A new post at Director level has been created in the Anti-Naxalite Cell under the Ministry of Home Affairs has been created. The name of Dr. Y. K. Gautam, IPS (AM, 1990) and Mr. Ram Prasad Meena, IPS (AM, 1993) is doing rounds for appointment on this post.

The name of Mr. C. Chinnappa, Indian Economic Service (1998) is said to be in consideration for appointment as Director in the Department of Sports in the Government of India.

Dr. Rajwant Singh shifted to Haryana on inter cadre deputation

Dr. Rajwant Singh, IPS (AP, 1985) has been shifted from Andhra Pradesh cadre to Haryana for a period of three years or till further order on inter cadre deputation. The same has been approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.

Mr. Suresh Kumar gets extension

Mr. Suresh Kumar, IAS(JK, 1986), Secretary, NCERT in the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Human Resource Development has been given three months beyond 08th February, 2009. The same has been approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.

Mr. Manoj Kumar, IAS (MT, 1990) has been given extension in tenure as the Chief Vigilance Officer of Kolkata Port Trust, Kolkata upto 06th April, 2009. The same has been approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.

Mr. Anurag Goyal gets extension

Mr. Anurag Goyal, IRS (IT), serving as Director in the NDMC on deputation has been given one year extension in tenure till 05th January, 2009.
