Mr. Raman Srivastava may become next Special Secretary (IS)
Mr. Raman Srivastava, IPS (KL, 1973) may be appointed as the next Special Secretary (Internal Security), Ministry of Home Affairs. At present, Mr. M. L. Kumawat, IPS (AP, 1972), Director General, Border Security Force is holding the additional charge of the post of Special Secretary (Internal Security), Ministry of Home Affairs.
Mr. Ranjit Sinha appointed DG, RPF
Mr. Ranjit Sinha, IPS (BH, 1974) has been appointed as the next Director General, Railway Protection Force. Mr. Sinha was recently empanelled as DG in the Government of India.
Mr. C. Chandramouli may be appointed RGI
Mr. C. Chandramouli, IAS (TN, 1985) may be appointed as next Registrar General under the Registrar General of India, Ministry of Home Affairs. According to sources, Mr. Devender Kumar Sikri, IAS (GJ, 1975), the present incumbent to the post is being shifted to some other responsibility. Mr. Sikri who joined this assignment at Joint Secretary level has been elevated to the rank of Secretary.
Mr. B. Anand may become J. S., AYUSH
It is tipped that Mr. B. Anand, IAS (TN, 1987) is being considered for appointment as Joint secretary in the Department of Ayurveda Yoga and Naturopathy Unani Siddha and Homeopathy (AYUSH), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Mr. Shiv Basant, IAS (JH, 1976), the earlier incumbent to the post, went back to his parent cadre in the first week of October, 2008 prematurely.
Mr. Rajiv Gauba may be appointed J. S., Environment & Forest
It is tipped that Mr. Rajiv Gauba, IAS (JH, 1982) is being considered for appointment as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Environment and Forest, Government of India. The present incumbent to the post, Mr. R. K. Vaish, IAS (MT, 1978) will complete his tenure on 15th January, 2009.
Ms. Renu Amitabh may be appointed Director, EA
Ms. Renu Amitabh, IRS (IT, 1991) may be appointed Director in the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance in place of Mr. Sanjay Kumar, IAS (NL, 1992).
Mr. J. K. Singh to be Director, Home?
Mr. Rajnish Sahai, IRAS (1987), who was serving as Director in the Ministry of Home Affairs repatriated back to his parent department, prematurely. It is tipped that Mr. Jitendra Kumar Singh, IRSME (1990) may be appointed on this post.

Dr. Syed Naseem Ahmad Zaidi, IAS (UP, 1976), India’s Representative to the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), Montreal, Canada will complete his tenure in the month of November, 2008. According to sources, Mr. Rajesh Kumar Singh, IAS (MT, 1985), at present, serving on extended tenure as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Civil Aviation is the most probable candidate to succeed Dr. Zaidi in the ICAO.

Mr. R. R. P. N. Sahi to join BCAS?
The name of Mr. R. R. P. N. Sahi, IPS (BH, 1973) is almost final for the post of Commissioner of Security, Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), Ministry of Civil Aviation and formal order is expected soon, sources informed. At present, Mr. J. K. Dutt, IPS (WB, 1971), Director General, National Security Guard is holding the additional charge of this post.
The panel for J. S., I&B scrapped?
The panel for appointment of Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting to succeed Ms. Stuti Narain Kackar, IAS (UP, 1978) has been scrapped following her elevation as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, sources informed.
Panel for appointment of J. S. (Exploration), Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas being scrapped?
Is the panel of officers for the appointment of Joint Secretary (Exploration) in the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas being scrapped once again? There was a strong rumour about this possibility and the panel has been scrapped on two three occasions earlier as well, sources said. But the sources further added that the inclusion of Mr. Apurva Chandra, IAS (MH, 1988), Resident Commissioner, Maharashtra Sadan, New Delhi who has bright chances for this post will ensure that the panel is not scrapped this time.

It is tipped that Mr. Angshuman Dey, IFS (MT, 1997) is being considered for appointment as Director in the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises. The post was held earlier by Mr. S. Narayanan, IFS (HY, 1997) who was shifted as Deputy Conservator of Forests level in the Wildlife Crime Control bureau, Chennai, Ministry of Environment Forests in the month of September, 2008.
