Ms. Anshu Vaish appointed Secretary, School Education & Literacy

Ms. Anshu Vaish, IAS (MP, 1975), Director General of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), Ministry of Culture has been appointed as next Secretary, Department of School Education & Literacy in the Ministry of Human Resources Development. The present Secretary, Mr. Arun Kumar Rath, IAS (JH, 1973) is superannuating on 31st January, 2009.

Mr. K. N. Srivastava to Ms. Anshu Vaish

Mr. K. N. Srivastava, IAS (KN, 1978), Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Civil Aviation will succeed Ms. Anshu Vaish, IAS (MP, 1975) as the next Director General of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), Ministry of Culture. Mr. Srivastava’s position as DG, ASI will be equivalent to the rank of Additional Secretary in the GOI.

Mr. V. N. Gaur to be appointed Advisor, Inter-state Council Secretariat?

It is tipped that Mr. Virendra Narayan Gaur, IAS (NL, 1978), Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs, who is empanelled in the level of Additional Secretary in the GOI is the most likely candidate to be appointed as the next Advisor, Inter-state Council Secretariat in the Ministry of Home Affairs. The present incumbent to the post, Ms. Veena Upadhyaya, IAS (UP, 1976) is there till 21st January, 2009.

Who will be appointed J. S., Civil Aviation?

Mr. K. N. Srivastava, IAS (KN, 1978), Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Civil Aviation has been appointed as next Director General of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), Ministry of Culture. To succeed Mr. Srivastava as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Civil Aviation, the name of two-three high profile officers is doing rounds.

Appointment of Deputy Governor, RBI

The appointment of new Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India in place of Mr. V. Leeladhar, who retired in the early of December, 2008, which supposed to be finalised on 12th January, 2009 is likely to be decided now on 15th January, 2009. According to sources, Mr. T. S. Narayanasami, Chairman and Managing Director of Bank of India, Dr. K. C. Chakrabarty, Chairman and Managing Director of Punjab National Bank and Mr. Mr. Yogesh Agarwal, Chairman and Managing Director of IDBI Bank are the three strong contenders for the post.

Reshuffle in the assignments of Joint Secretaries in Ministry of Petroleum likely

It is tipped that the assignments of Joint Secretaries in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural gas may be interchanged. According to sources, Mr. D N Narasimha Raju, IAS (KN, 1984), Joint Secretary – Marketing in the Ministry may be given the responsibility of Joint secretary – Exploration, Mr. Laxmi Narayan Gupta, IAS (OR, 1986), Joint Secretary – Refinery may get the new role of Joint Secretary – Marketing and newly appointed Joint Secretary in the Ministry Mr. Apurva Chandra, IAS (MH, 1988) may get the assignment of Joint Secretary – Refinery.

Ms. Renuka Kumar to join GOI on deputation?

It is tipped that Ms. Renuka Kumar, IAS (UP, 1987) is being considered for appointment as Joint Secretary in some Ministry in the Government of India and if appointed may join Central Government on deputation.

Will Mr. Rajiv Yadav become Minister (Economic) in the High Commission of India, UK?

The name of Mr. A. Chittranjan Mohandoss, IAS (TN, 1995) is believed to be in consideration for appointment for his next assignment in the Ministry of Defence.

Mr. A. K. R. Parmar may become Director, Health & Family Welfare

The name of Mr. Ashok Kumar Ranchhodbhai Parmar, IAS (JK, 1992) is almost final for appointment as Director in the Department of Health and Family Welfare and he is likely to join at the Centre on deputation, sources informed. The post was held earlier by Dr. Asha Thomas, IAS (KL, 1988) who proceeded for study leave in the month of July.

Mr. A. P. Singh may join CBI?

It is tipped that Mr. A. P. Singh, IPS (JH, 1974) may be considered for appointment as Special Director in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Who will be the next Secretary, Textiles?

Mr. Arvind Kumar Singh, IAS (MP, 1972), Secretary, Ministry of Textiles is superannuating on 31st January, 2009. Who will be appointed as successor to Mr. Singh on this post? Several names are doing rounds for this post and according to our information, the post is likely to go to some IAS officer of 1975 batch.

Mr. S. C. Sinha appointed Additional Director, CBI

Mr. S. C. Sinha, IPS (HY, 1975) has been appointed as Additional Director, Central Bureau of Investigation. It is being tipped that Mr. Sinha, who has previously worked in the CBI, may be given responsibility of Economic Offence Wing in the CBI.

Mr. C. Chandramouli appointed RGI

Mr. C. Chandramouli, IAS (TN, 1985) has been appointed as the next Registrar General under the Registrar General of India, Ministry of Home Affairs. Mr. Devender Kumar Sikri, IAS (GJ, 1975), the present incumbent to the post is likely to be shifted to some other responsibility. Mr. Sikri who joined this assignment at Joint Secretary level has been elevated to the rank of Secretary.

Mr. S. K. Panda appointed J. S., AYUSH

Mr. Sanjay Kumar Panda, IAS (MT, 1980) has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Department of Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy (AYUSH), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Mr. Verghese Samuel, IAS (JK, 1976), the earlier incumbent to the post, went back to his parent cadre of Jammu and Kashmir, prematurely.

Ms. Ritika Bhatia, IA&AS (1996) is tipped to be in consideration for appointment as Director in the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances. The post was held earlier by Mr. Alok Ranjan, Indian Civil Accounts Service officer.

Additional charge to CCIT & CITs

From 01st January, 2009, Mr. Vinod Khurana, CCIT- VIII, Kolkata will hold the additional charge of CCIT, Guwahati in place of Mr. Vineet Sahai following his superannuation, Mr. T. M. Das, CIT (CO), Guwahati will hold the additional charge of CIT-I, Guwahati in place of Mr. P. K. Dev Verman on his superannuation and Mr. A. K. SInha, CIT (TDS) will hold the additional charge of CIT-II, Guwahati in place of Mr. N. L. Mao on his superannuation.

Mr. Puneet Kansal may be appointed Director (Finance), NACO

Mr. Puneet Kansal, IAS (SK, 1996) is in consideration for appointment as Director (Finance) in the National Aids Control Organisation (NACO), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, sources informed. The post was held earlier by Mr. Suresh Kumar Sepuri, IAS (WB, 1988), who was elevated and appointed on the newly created post of Advisor, National Disaster Management Authority, Ministry of Home Affairs in the rank of Joint Secretary.
