Dr. Prajapati Trivedi appointed Secretary & Chairman, NACWC

Dr. Prajapati Trivedi has been appointed Secretary and Chairman, National Authority for Chemical Weapons Convention (NACWC) in the Cabinet Secretariat.

Will Mr. Rajiv Yadav become Minister (Economic) in the High Commission of India, UK?

For appointment as Minister (Economic) in the High Commission of India at United Kingdom under the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry vice Mr. S. Jagadeesan (GJ, 1980), the name of Mr. Rajiv Yadav, IAS (AM, 1981) was almost final but for due to some technical reasons, Mr. Yadav may not be given this assignment but a final call on the issue has not yet been taken, sources informed.

Mr. A. C. Mohandoss may join Ministry of Defence

The name of Mr. A. Chittranjan Mohandoss, IAS (TN, 1995) is believed to be in consideration for appointment for his next assignment in the Ministry of Defence.

Mr. A. K. R. Parmar may become Director, Health & Family Welfare

The name of Mr. Ashok Kumar Ranchhodbhai Parmar, IAS (JK, 1992) is almost final for appointment as Director in the Department of Health and Family Welfare and he is likely to join at the Centre on deputation, sources informed. The post was held earlier by Dr. Asha Thomas, IAS (KL, 1988) who proceeded for study leave in the month of July.

Mr. L. K. Jha appointed J. S., Home

Mr. Lokesh Dutt Jha, IAS (JK, 1986) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs on the post held earlier by Mr. Dinesh Singh, IAS (UP, 1982). Mr. Singh repatriated back prematurely to his parent cadre in October, 2008.

Mr. V. S. Madan appointed J. S., Culture

Mr. Vijay Shankar Madan, IAS (UT, 1981), Additional Director General, Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) in the level of Joint Secretary has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Culture on lateral shift basis.

Mr. Angshuman appointed Dy. Secretray, Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises

Mr. Angshuman Dey, IFS (MT, 1997) has been appointed Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises. The post was held earlier by Mr. S. Narayanan, IFS (HY, 1997) who was shifted as Deputy Conservator of Forests level in the Wildlife Crime Control bureau, Chennai, Ministry of Environment Forests in the month of September, 2008.

Mr. Shiv Ratan appointed Dy. Secretary, Overseas Indian Affairs

Mr. Shiv Ratan, Indian Telecom Service (1995) has been appointed Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs. The post was held earlier by Mr. T. Q. Mohammad, Indian postal Service (1994), who was appointed as Advisor for Afghanistan in the month of February, 2008.

Mr. Rakesh Saini appointed ED, Tea Board

Mr. Rakesh Saini, IDSE (1987) has been appointed Executive Director, Tea Board under the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry. The post was lying vacant following the completion of tenure of Mr. Chandrajit Saikia, IRPS (1989), the earlier incumbent.

Mr. R. K. Tandon appointed MD, IRCTC

We carried a story on the delay in the appointment of Managing Director of Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (Why the appointment of MD, IRCTC is being delayed?) on 19th December, 2008 and raised the concerns of improper functioning of the organisation in the absence of a regular incumbent to the voiced the officials. Following this, Mr. R. K. Tandon, IRTS, whose name was doing rounds for quite some time to become MD, IRCTC has been appointed by the Government on the post being looked after as an additional charge by Dr. Nalin Singhal, Director - Tourism and Marketing (DTM), IRCTC.
