Appointment of Deputy Governor, RBI
The appointment of new Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India in place of Mr. V. Leeladhar, who retired in the early of December, 2008, is likely to be decided on 05th January, 2009. According to sources, Mr. T. S. Narayanasami, Chairman and Managing Director of Bank of India is the most probable contender to be appointed as Deputy Governor, RBI.
Mr. R. K. Srivastava may succeed Mr. Bimal Julka
The name of Mr. Ravindra Kumar Srivastava, IAS (JH, 1984) is doing rounds for appointment as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Defence in place of Mr. Bimal Julka, IAS (MP, 1979), Joint Secretary, Defence on completion of his extended central deputation tenure on 28th March, 2009.
Mr. Alok Shukla may join GOI
Mr. Alok Shukla, IAS (CG, 1986) is tipped to be in consideration for his next assignment in the level of Joint secretary in the Central Government and if selected may join Government of India soon on deputation.
Mr. A. Purkayastha to become J. S., Agriculture & Cooperation
The name of Mr. Atanu Purkayastha, IAS (WB, 1983) has been cleared by the competent authorities for appointment as Joint Secretary in the Department of Agriculture & Cooperation, Ministry of Agriculture. Mr. Gokul Chandra Pati, IAS (OR, 1978), the earlier incumbent to the post, was elevated as Additional Secretary there.
Mr. S. K. Bagade to become Director, Economic Affairs?
The name of Mr. Surendra Kumar Bagade, IAS (MH, 1993) is tipped to be in consideration for appointment as Director in the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance. The earlier incumbent to the post, Ms. Manisha Sensarma, Indian Economic service (1995) left to join training course in July, 2008.
Appointment of Director, Ministry of IT
A new post of Director was created in the Ministry of Information & Technology in the month of April, 2008. According to sources, an IAS officer of 1995 has been finalised to be appointed on this post.
Mr. Puneet Kansal may be appointed Director (Finance), NACO
Mr. Puneet Kansal, IAS (SK, 1996) is in consideration for appointment as Director (Finance) in the National Aids Control Organisation (NACO), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, sources informed. The post was held earlier by Mr. Suresh Kumar Sepuri, IAS (WB, 1988), who was elevated and appointed on the newly created post of Advisor, National Disaster Management Authority, Ministry of Home Affairs in the rank of Joint Secretary.
Mr. D. Basu to become Director Bridge & Roof Company
Mr. D. Basu, General Manager (South), B&R is likely to become Director (Project Management), Bridge & Roof Company (India) Limited (B&R), Kolkata, his name his been approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
Appointment of Director, Food & Public Distribution
