Mr. S. Das appointed J. S., Budget

Mr. Shaktikanta Das, IAS (TN, 1980), who joined as Joint Secretary in the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance on deputation in November, 2008 has been appointed Joint Secretary (Budget) in the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance.

Mr. Rajesh Verma appointed CVO, REC

Mr. Rajesh Verma, IAS (OR, 1987), Joint Secretary & F A in the Ministry of Power has been appointed Chief Vigilance Officer, Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) under the Ministry of Power.

Mr. Sudhir Bhargava appointed J. S., Fertilizers

Mr. Sudhir Bhargava, IAS (RJ, 1979) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Fertilizers, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers. The earlier incumbent to the post, Mr. V. Chhiber, IAS (MT, 1978) was elevated and appointed Additional Secretary and FA in the Ministry of Shipping, Road Transport & Highways.

Ms. B. Rajendran may be appointed Regional Director, SSC

According to sources, Ms. Bhagyadevi Rajendran, IRS (C&CE, 1989) is being considered for appointment as Regional Director, Staff selection Commission (SSC) under the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances.

Who will be appointed Director, Rural Development?

The post of Director in the Department of Rural Development, ministry of Rural Development held earlier by Mr. S. K. G. Rahate, IAS (JH, 1990) has fallen vacant following the appointment of Mr. Rahate as Private Secretary to the Minister of State for Food Processing Industries (Independent Charge), Government of India. It is tipped that some IAS officer of 1995 batch is in consideration for this post.

Mr. Kamal Bhagat may become Director, U. P. S. C.

According to sources, the name of Mr. Kamal Bhagat, Indian Telecom Service (1990) is almost final for appointment as Director in the Union Public Service Commission (U. P. S. C.). The post was held earlier by Mr. M. P. Tangirala, IP&TA&FS, who proceeded for training in July, 2008.

Who will succeed Mr. S. C. Barmma, Indian Postal Service (1987) as Director in the Department of Defence? Mr. Bramma is going to join training course this month.

Mr. Rajesh Kumar may succeed Mr. Jitesh Khosla

Mr. Jitesh Khosla, IAS (AM, 1979), Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs will complete his central deputation tenure on 20th January, 2009. According to sources, Mr. Rajesh Kumar, IAS (MT, 1988), Private Secretary to the Minister of Road Transport and Highways may be appointed as the next Joint Secretary, Corporate Affairs in place of Mr. Khosla.

Ms. Ritika Bhatia may get new assignment soon

Ms. Ritika Bhatia, IA&AS (1996) is tipped to be in consideration for appointment as Director in the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances. The post was held earlier by Mr. Alok Ranjan, Indian Civil Accounts Service officer.

Mr. Ramesh Chander appointed Ambassador to Belarus

Mr. Ramesh Chander, Consul General of India in Edinburgh has been appointed as the next India’s Ambassador to Belarus.
